So, now we’ve got this original Kerala heritage house going. Replete with wooden walls, floors and ceiling. All put together by the master craftsmen themselves. And perched it high on stilts. You could say this is your “machan” your own watch tower. Overlooking the wild jungle.

Forest of the Elephant

Private exclusive and quiet, save for the sounds of the jungle. No noisy holiday makers, in fact there are no other people around. Just yourself. We call it “Anaikaadu” - the local Tamil name for “Forest of the Elephant”, which is true, elephant herds abound here besides gaur (Indian bison), deer, leopard, wild dog, sambhar and wild boar. All visit us. But stay, we have an electrified fence around the area so there are no surprise visitors.
